  • Can you clarify if/why a laser curtain is strictly necessary?

A laser curtain is required only if the Microscoop system is not housed in its own dedicated room. The curtain serves two critical purposes:

Light Control – It blocks ambient white light from entering the workspace, which is essential to prevent interference with photolabeling processes that are highly sensitive to light exposure.

Safety Compliance – It also acts as an additional safety measure, ensuring that any stray laser light remains contained, protecting users and surrounding equipment.

In dedicated rooms with controlled lighting, a laser curtain is not strictly necessary.

  • Can we ship the Microscoop Mint to another location after installation?

The Microscoop has been carefully aligned during installation and is not intended to be relocated by the end user. The system is designed to be stationary. If relocation is required, please contact Syncell support. Our FSEs (Field Service Engineers) can help coordinate the relocation to ensure optimal performance post-move.

  • Is a red light environment required whenever the machine is in operation, or only for certain procedures / preparations?

A red light environment is only required during specific steps, when the photo-sensitive probe in our Synlight-RIch kit is added to the sample. This precaution helps prevent non-specific biotinylation events caused by unintended light exposure.
